Born and raised in Taos, NM with twin brother Hunter (current member of MLP’s Atlanta bouncers)... Grew up skiing, playing soccer, hockey, golf, baseball, and tennis… Played baseball and tennis in high school… Attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, where Yates and Hunter were the winningest doubles team for a single season in school history and had a national doubles ranking of 16… Turned pro after graduating in 2017, winning 14 professional doubles titles with his brother, as well as a ranking of ATP top 200 in the world… Played first pickleball tournament, January 2022.
